Wilhelm Heyne Verlag
Founded in 1934 by Wilhelm Heyne, the Heyne Verlag grew to one of Germany’s biggest paperback publishing houses in the 1960s and ’70s. After the death of Rolf Heyne in 2000 the Wilhelm Heyne Verlag was sold first to Axel Springer Publishing Group and later to Random House Germany. Heyne is now home to world renown authors like Stephen King, John Grisham, Stieg Larsson, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Nora Roberts, Arthur C. Clarke, Andy Weir, Ursula K. Le Guin or Cixin Liu. Heyne has a hardback list, too, and it is now one of the Random House Germany core publishing groups. It has imprints like Blessing, Diana, Bassermann and Ludwig unter its roof where authors like Nobel Prize winner Kazuo Ishiguro and the ranger and non-fiction author Peter Wohlleben are published.
