Storydrive interview: 8 Questions for Isabelle Fauvel

After having worked at Flach Film and gained experience as a producer, Isabelle Fauvel created Initiative Film in 1993, a company exclusively dedicated to film development. She has since become the privileged partner of writers, directors and producers for all matters concerned with projects and talent development centered on the following activities: talent scouting, subject research in literature, consulting, story editing and provision of insightful advise during the entire project gestation period.

As such, she holds talks regularly in forefront events such as the crossroads forum of Thessaloniki, the Sofia meetings, the coproduction forum of Namur, and Qumra in Doha. She is also a speaker in the Sorbonne University and works as a consultant for MFI (Mediterranean Film Institute), ACE (Atelier du Cinema Européen) and a large number of Euromed program's formation, including creating training programs on demand, and cinema schools like FAMU in Prague. She has also ventured into the world of editing where she facilitates book adaptations, such as AdaptLab at Torino Film Lab. She also collaborates with Shoot the Book ! SCELF (Civil Society of French Language Publishers) in Cannes and Toronto, and at the French crime novel festival, Quais du Polar.

Her aim is to contribute to the circulation of ideas and talents, and to enrich the field of film development. Since founding Initiative Film, Isabelle also serves as a scout for the Jerusalem International Film Lab.
